KEY MOMENTS
The first race weekend of what promises to be an exciting 2025 season kicked off with high hopes and valuable lessons
Mechanical issues proved to be the defining challenge, leaving Joey at a significant disadvantage against the competition
Homestead served as a wake-up call for Joey and the team, highlighting the hard work and improvements needed to compete at the highest level
“This was one of the most challenging race weekends we have ever had. All of the mechanical issues put us days behind our competition, and as a result, we were not competitive.”
POST RACE
A Test of Perseverance: Part 1
Coming off winning the NASA SoCal Spec Miata and Teen Mazda Challenge championships, I carried a ton of excitement into the 2025 season, where I’d be moving up to Spec MX-5. We started the year at Homestead-Miami Speedway to warm up for the first round of the championship a week later at Sebring. Little did I know just how much these two weeks were going to push me.
