This was Joey’s first time being nominated for the Mazda Shootout and his first time driving at Homestead-Miami Speedway
According to Joey this was the most physically demanding driving event of his career due to the air temp of 89°F (32°C) with 91% humidity.
Following a solid last session, Joey was selected to join the Mazda Club Racing Factory Team in 2025 in Spec MX-5
